i bought a compaq laptop 1 year ago. now the lcd was not working even though the laptop was already on... can anyone help me?

System Specs, being the point of interest here

Model number please. The lower priced Compaq laptops have a problem with the inverter burning out early.
Try connecting an external monitor to discover if anything shows up when not going through the laptop screen circuitry.
Also, cold boot to SAFE MODE, to see if you get anything on the screen here. That will tell you a bit about settings. If you get something on the screen with SAFE MODE, the problem is in the computer video graphics driver or the display settings, or other setup.
Do you have any red or yellow flags in the device manager that could indicate defective hardware or bad video graphics driver?
