Realtek Audio Feedback
I've got an HP Pavilion a1620e running Windows XP with Realtek sound. I recently had to send it for HP bench service as the motherboard needed replaced.
When it came back with a fresh build, I had a problem with the sound. When using my microphone in programs like ventrilo, the ppl on the other end can hear everything happening on my computer... as well as hearing themselves. I use a headset, so it wasn't feedback from the speakers... and this exact setup worked prior to sending the machine for bench service. After fiddling with it for about 2 weeks, somehow it started working properly, but I never figured out which setting was the one that made it work... A few days ago, my sound simply stopped working, I reloaded the drivers, and I have sound again! But... I'm back to square one with the feedback problem, and really have no idea which magical button I used that made it work. Any suggestions would be appreciated... ![]() |

I have Realtek audio also and a program I didn't even know I had is available with the Realtek package(s) - do a search for 'MicCal.exe'.
Run it if you have it. edit: very very few tutorials on microphone setup; this looks adequate; http://www.smartcomputing.com/editor...rticleID=49515 Last edited by CCT; 10-11-2008 at 12:36 PM. |
