Trouble Installing Windows Xp

Hello everyone, first post on here, and really need some help!

Anyway will get straight to the point.....

Just finished building my frist computer, building went well and just trying (and having some problems) installing the OS.

here are the specs

Mobo - Asus P5N - D 7750i
CPU - Intel Pentium Dual Core E2220 2.4Ghz
RAM - 4 gig (Corsair)
Graphics - BFG 9800gt 512mb
Hard drive - 1 Tera (SATA)

Now for the problem;

When first started up, i went into bios and checked that everything was being recognised, which it was.

Howeever, when i tried to install the OS (Win XP) it goes through the preliminary stuff but when comes to regognising the hard drive its self (at the point when partitioning can occour) it simply says that "Setup cannot access disk". While above it states "0 mb disk 0 at Id 0 on bus 0 on atapi"

It then forces me to restart the computer.

I have tried changing the connecting wires to the hard drive as well as its power source, and still the same problem occurs.

Would be very appreciative if anyone at all could give me some feed back.

thanks =)

because my computer is brand new and it hasnt got an OS as of yet
how do i get that file onto the computer ?
do i upload it bios ? if so how
your help is much appreciated thankyou

You may have missed this part
Extract the zip file
And run the Makedisk file in your OS folder (ie XP)

And when XP Setup is starting, press F6 when requested and point it to the "made disk" (floppy or CD that you made ;) )
Continue XP setup
No installed OS required when pressing F6 on Windows initial setup
