Hello (introduction)

Hi,
I saw a post by user "raybay" that covered precisely the problem I'm having with my ibm thinkpad r51 (bad inverter and/or backlight). Unfortunately, it looks like the forum administrators won't permit new members to contact anyone who posts here until they've contributed 45 posts of their own original content. I'm doubtful of being able to do that, but maybe if I post this introduction someone might clue me in on any feasible way to contact "raybay" and seek more guidance from him.

Hi gberliner

I am not a mod, but let me offer a bit of a belated
Welcome to

As far as getting questions answered, the best way is to start a thread in the appropriate forum.
Personal messages are more for chat than for advice getting.
I see that Raybay did respond to the thread you started on your question.

When I arrived, one of the Mods welcomed me with these helpful hints.

You should read how to post a new thread in this Guide.

Before posting you should read all the Posting Guidelines.

To access technical support you may go to the Forums.

Many users like to post system specs in their Profile.
System Specs are always helpful when you seek support, (see the first two suggestions).
And helpers may ask that you post some of your specs in your thread.

You can access many other online TechSpot guides Here.

Enjoy your Stay
