Can I make XP scan for USB devices?

I have two external harddrives, a printer and some memory sticks connected to my notebook via a hub. It will usually not detect any of this. Removing the USB-cable will work every once in a while, but isn't there a software-way to make XP scan for and detect USB-devices?

Best regards

You could run DriverCleanup: http://www.uwe-sieber.de/files/drivecleanup04.zip
Unplug your USB devices that are having issues
Then run the DriveCleanup tool
Then restart
Then plug in your USB devices one at a time (note: you may need to re-install the latest drivers of your USB devices, but most install automatically)
