New dual processing core PowerPC processor
Designed using the 90-nanometer silicon-on-insulator manufacturing process, the MPC8641D is a dual processing core PowerPC processor from Freescale Semiconductor Inc., the chip company derived from Motorola Inc. The processor integrates two e600 PowerPC cores with each processor able to operate at a clock frequency of 1.5-GHz. There are two 1-Mbyte level-two caches and dual AltiVec(TM) vector processing engines. There is no word yet on availability.
