It should work but you will need to update your motherboard drivers.

Go to C:/drivers/chipset where the files were extracted and double click on setup.exe.

Ive got Doom 3 installed on my spare computer wiht XP 1700 processor and Radeon 8500. It runs at 1024 resolution and 30FPS. But I would reccomend putting in an extra 512mb of system memory. Im not sure if your processor can be OC'd though.

No, your system is fine. I just meant that you will have better gaming performance with more system memory. 256mb is the minimum. More memory will make multitasking easier and games will load faster.

They are basically the same but I would go for one with a cooling fan. I dont care for passive heatsinks.

Get the 9600. All the reviews for it were good. It should play Sims 2 since its a DirectX 9 card. Your system fits the requirements http://thesims2.ea.com/help/detail.php?help_id=21

will i have to do anything with bios once i get the card, because i was reading the 9800oro revews (for fun) and they said they had to do sometihng with bois, and if i get the 9600 with a heatsink and upgrade the ram do you think my computer will run to hot. Right now my computer is blowing like room tempture air out, do you think i would need a biger fan or a am i good . And the power suppily is good for the card?

The BIOS should be fine. If you are going to do alot of gaming Id get a card with a fan. It wont ad any heat to the case and you only need to upgrade the power supply if you go with a newer card- 9800 and up. Also stay away from 64bit cards. Only get 128 bit.
