How do i install a 3rd hard drive
hi,
i just bought a hard drive and need it installed, ive got spare power and ide cables inside my pc for it. could anyone tell me what the jumper settings are for the 3rd hard drive im unplugging one of my cd roms for the extra space.. any help appreciated.. thanx. |

Welcome to TechSpot
Set it as master and cd-rom drive as slave.
There is no 'third' option, the only options are master or slave. Only the ide channel changes. You can have only two devices per channel (ie. primary master & slave, secondary m & s and so on). |

Two IDE cables. IDE Cable 1 -> Hard Drive 1 (master) Hard Drive 2 (slave) IDE Cable 2 -> Hard Drive 3 (master) Possible CDROM/DVD (slave) |
