ECM Command for fax modem

they've been bought out so many times, it's hard to keep track. They were bought by rockwell, then someone else.
 
Just discovered a fax program that will work. Unfortunately it is not freeware.
The generic fax program in windows for some reason won't work with Vonage and my faxmodem.

Anybody know a good freeware scanner/fax program?
 
How much was the modem ? ? ?
Some faxmodems come with fax software bundled.

the faxmodem was pulled from an older gateway system. No software came with it except for drivers. The windows fax program won't work with Vonage, but I found a trial ware program that does work. But I don't feel spending $30 when I know there's free software out there.
 
I fianally got the bug fixed after several months.... turned out the modem was set on pulse instead of tone.

I had assumed all along it was on tone.

The modem was from an older computer and recycled for Fax use only.
 
yup. I feel like a dummy.

Funny, I had one program that would work. It was trial-ware.... I guess it would set it to tone. My XP fax program wouldn't work before. It works now.
