new to forum.. computer is going haywire.. out of ideas.. please help!
hi, I'm new to this forum.. found out about it through Google, while trying to self-diagnose my problem.. to no avail. anyway, recently my computer started acting up. IE (6) will just come to a dead stop and won't load any pages.. if I click anywhere, it will say "not responding". it also takes forever to shut down my computer.. I kept getting the "should not see me" thing, but found out that's nothing to really worry about (thought it was a virus). anyway, my CPU Usage is often at 100%, for no apparent reason. I use DC++, which uses up most of the system resources, so even when that's not loaded, something is still taking up my resources. there are a lot of processes that are running in the task magager, but I don't know what most of them are, nor do I wanna mess with them, as I'm not too computer savvy when it comes to stuff like this, so I'm leaving it up to someone here who may be able to help me. I heard of this "hijack this" program, so I downloaded it and below you will find the log of my system. I've also scanned my whole system repeatedly with "adaware", "spybot" and "pest patrol", as well as "norton antivirus 2005". I've reformatted my hard drive as well, and that didn't seem to fix anything. there are other minor things that it's doing as well, like not remembering how my folder viewing settings are, even though the appropriate boxes are checked, etc.. but the main thing that's really annoying me is the internet browser taking so long to display pages, if at all. it seems like each page that loads takes a 5-10 second pause and it won't do ANYTHING.. sometimes the pause/lockup is even longer. if you need anymore information, please contact me at scottdouglas718@msn.com. thank you!

Move HJT to a PROPER directory, NOT in Temp or on the Desktop!
Boot in Safe Mode. Switch System restore OFF. Press Ctrl/Alt/Del simultaneously, select Taskmanager/Processes, select the process (if there), click "End Process" for: Weather.exe UNinstall anything to do with: C:\Program Files\AWS\WeatherBug\Weather.exe PCTools Site Guard, Browser Monitor and Spyware Doctor This program alone eats up nearly 50% of your CPU time, and is a lousy spy-catcher at best. Get rid of it. Next, run a HJT scan and place a tick-mark in the little square before (if still there): ........................................................................... ........................
