Firefox 'hanging' problem
This has been bugging my system ever since I first installed Firefox about six months ago.
Every so often - maybe twice a day at worst Firefox will simply hang. I can type an address into the address box but nothing happens when I click 'Go'. Likewise if a link is clicked, either on a Firefox screen or say an email link the same happens - nothing. Shutting down any open Firefox windows does not reslove the problem. The only resolution is ctrl+alt+delete to pull up the Windows Task Manager where it is found that Firefox.exe is still running as a process. End the process and everything goes back to normal.... until the next time. There is no discernible pattern to when the problem occurs. I have tried reinstalling Firefox to no effect. The system is a P IV running XP Home. Has anyone else experienced this? Any hints for a resolution? Pete |

Make sure you uninstall before you install the newest version (1.0.6).
Your bookmarks and settings will automatically be re-installed as well. |
