Modem problems

Ive had multiple computers..each with modems..until i got my new one which didnt come with one and i couldnt transfer my other modems cuz my new comptuer had only PCI slots and they wernt PCI...so i had gotten a compaq modem from my moms library (old parts they didnt need) and for some odd reason Win98 wont find drivers for it, but on the newer systems it will. So I went to look for drivers and couldnt find one since there is a driver for nearly everymodel and system. So i was jsut wondering if i could transfer the Modem.sys over. Would it work? just wondering

AJ
