No sound in the computer at all

I cant figure it out for my computer. Their is no sound and at the volume controll is says no audio device. can anyone tell me what should i do..

What kind of soundcard do you have?

Have you tried reinstalling your soundcard drivers?

how do i install my soundcard again? mabye that's the problem that my computer has too.
i actually noticed many people have been having this problem. what could be causing this? :suspiciou
