There is probably a really easy answer

My question is, how do you get the shortbut keys to work in Windows XP, or any other versions of windows.

When I right click on the program, go to the "shortcut key" option and hold eg.
Ctrl + Alt + y
It shows up OK
and I apply it

But when I try and get it to work I have no joy!!!

Some work, Some dont!!!

Can anyone shed any light???

System specs
Shortcut keys stop working if you remove the arrows from shortcut icons with some tweak app.
