Xbox Live kits sold out during first week

Even though Microsoft has received some bad press during the last week, they have announced today that the first batch of Xbox Live starter kits have been sold out, that accounts for about 150,000 packages. I suppose that's a good sign that you will definitely find a pal to play online games.

For $49.95 (estimated retail price), the Xbox Live Starter Kit includes a one-year subscription to the Xbox Live service, an Xbox TM Communicator headset and two online trial games.

Speaking of which, in case you haven't seen the ads running around the site, SpeakEasy is offering a free Playstation 2 or X-Box console for each DSL order you place before Nov. 26th. Not a bad deal really if you were signing up for DSL anyway, you get a free console instantly.
