hello and please help me
hi im new here and i dont know what this will come under
a while ago my sister bought a ex-display hp pavilion, (im not sure what type because on the front it says 710 but on the back theres a sticker saying 700) anyway it got a virus and would no longer start up properly it kept restarting when loading up. so she has now given me it because i thought i could fix it  so i put a new hard drive & a windows cd in but when i try to use it it says 'INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER' :hotouch: even though ive put the windows disk in the drive it wont work.what do i need to do????????

Hello and welcome to Techspot.
I`m assuming that you`re Windows cd is either 2000/Xp You need to go into the bios, and set the boot priority to Floppy drive(if applicable), cd-rom, hard drive. Put your Windows disk in the cd drive, and save and exit bios. When your computer reeboots, you will see a message that says " press any key to boot from cd". Just press any key, and Windows will start from the cd. Follow the on screen instructions. Regards Howard
