BSOD - Anyone good with minidumps?
Hi. I'm new here, and I have a problem with my computer. BSOD.
Helluva way to introduce myself! Basic and brief introduction of recent history and current problem: I recently upgraded the following hardware: Motherboard: MSI K8N Diamond Video Card: XFX GeForce 7800 GTX (UDD7) I eventually found out that my PSU was insufficient in more than one way. It had only 20 pins, and the motherboard had 24 pins. The PSU was only 360w. I experienced that the PSU would shut itself down under heavy load.. So I upgraded again. New PSU: Thermaltake Purepower 680w, 24 pins.. I also got a new CPU-cooler: VapoChill Micro Ultra Low Noise After installing the new PSU, the computer no longer shuts itself down. Since the power was sufficient. However, I sometimes get a BSOD.. but not immediately. These BSODs are very rare. One per day so far. They only occur after every basic software driver is installed. Event Viewer logs: 2nd of October 2005 Event ID 1001 The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x100000d1 (0xcc773317, 0x00000002, 0x00000001, 0xb02f78d4). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini100205-01.dmp. 3rd of October 2005 Event ID 1001 The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000019 (0x00000020, 0x8790d208, 0x8790d2a8, 0x0a140004). A dump was saved in: C:\WINDOWS\Minidump\Mini100305-01.dmp. The minidumps can be found here: www.omnicogni.com/dump/Mini100205-01.dmp www.omnicogni.com/dump/Mini100305-01.dmp More info: As I observe the event viewer, every time the savedump happens.. I also see something happening under "Application" at almost the same timestamp: 2nd October: System: EventID 1001 = Savedump 00:54:09 Application: EventID 1800 = SecurityCenter 00:54:19 Application: EventID 0 = ForceWare Intelligent Application Manager (IAM) 00:54:19 3rd October: System: EventID 1001 = Savedump 20:29:21 Application: EventID 1800 = SecurityCenter 20:29:31 Application: EventID 0 = ForceWare Intelligent Application Manager (IAM) 20:29:30 It could just be me, but these seemed connected somehow. I have uninstalled Nvidia Forceware Firewall.. I heard it was... problematic So far so good, but it's too early to tell. I only get something like 1 BSOD per day anyway.. The culprit is nVidia Firewall. De-install nVidia Firewall and install other firewall.
BugCheck 19, {20, 8790d208, 8790d2a8, a140004} Probably caused by : NVTcp.sys ( NVTcp+1d9f ) |

I did HOPE someone as astute as yourself would comment, but I didn't expect it. I'm honored to have your help. And you are a great person who helps people without asking for anything in return. The least we can give you is the recognition you deserve, as a great tech support expert, and a very nice guy.
![]() Thanks so much. It just confirms my suspicions.. I already did uninstall it.. and so far soo good!
