Recent Socket A Cooler Roundup

Anandtech hasn't done one in forever!

I seem to be looking around, almost everywhere, but can't seem to find any recent SockA cooler roundups. Preferably with alot of heatsinks.

I'd really like to know if the ALPHA PAL8045 is still the reigning champ...

I know technology really doesn't change fast in the cooling industry. But, I'd really like to know what's new and shaking...

ThermalTake SLK-800 seems to be considered the best on most sites.

The good thing about it, the bottom is very slim ( socket size ) so no need for the 4 mounting holes & the heatsink can actually be used with 60x60, 70x70 or 80x80 fans, which leaves you with quite a choice if you ask me.

Is that part of their Volcano line of heatsinks?

Anybody use the Volcano 7?

What you didn't catch, conrad, is that the SLK-800 is actually made by Thermalright (not *take)

I currently have a Volcano 9.
