Uninstall Windows 2003 in dual boot with XP

Hi,

Does anyone know how to uninstall Windows 2003 from a dual boot with Windows XP? I've got both installations on the same partition and was hoping there was lovely smooth path to follow , or maybe not. Anyway if anyone has any tips it'd be much appreciated.

Thanks.

You should have 2 Windows directories, or sound-alikes, like Windows and Windows.001 or something.
Use Notepad to edit c:\boot.ini and remove the line for W2003.
Delete the Windows directory from W2003.
Most likely the 'Program Files' and 'Documents and Settings' were shared.
If not, they would have the same extension as the Windows-dir for W2003, and you can delete them with it. Don't try to uninstall.

Sounds easy enough. Do I not need to do anything with the MBR?

No, cleaning boot.ini is enough.
If you insist, you can run fixboot and fixmbr from the repair-console, but it's not necessary.
