REAL basic question - how are fans measured?

How do I determine if I've got i.e. an 80 or 90mm fan?

Is the blade diameter measured, or distance between
screw mounting holes - diagonal or across, or ???

Thanks!!

It`s the distance from one side of the fan housing to the otherside.

See Pic.

I hope this helps.

Thanks, Howard!

I finally figure it out by looking at online
ads for fans - it clicked when they described
them as i.e. 80mm x 80mm.

Step by Step

I'm learning :bounce:
