colling issues w/ laptop?

Hi I'm having a problem with my laptop where it will die while in the middle of things. I'm wondering if this is an issue of it overheating or if it's more likely an OS issue. This seemsto happen the most when I'm playing games and the case gets very hot. Any ideas/

well... you could try putting some space between the laptop and the surface (put a book or something maybe and inch or 2 thick under the back of the laptop). This increases air circulation and laptop will stay cooler. thats the first thing I'd try...
