I have a problem with ping on counter strike. i recently got broadband and am running at 256k. So my ping should be relatively low around like 30. But it isn't it sits at like 450 (that is worse than a 56k modem). it is only counter stike, and i can surf the net fast.Two month ago it was all fine my ping was 12,25,30.... but now it is 400-2000. Many ISPs are downgrading service on other protocols besides HTTP. Find out (if you can) which priority services they have applied.

Try the usual virus/adware sweeps as well.

Make sure your arent also downloading updates to your OS at the same time or even other Steam delivered games.

...well thats about the extent of my knowledge...such as it is.

I've tried every thing, I reinstalled CS, I don't have any spy on my PC, my PC config. is Perfect, My broadband speed is 195kbs up/ 196 kbs down (24kbps),
I tried all rates, cl_ , cmd,...... and so on.

Please, Please help me, I'm not able to play CS. I need help,
