I think I used these instructions when I played around with Panther and AD.

Mac Join AD Domain
Thanks for the instructions.
I was able to join the domain using some instructions posted on Microsoft. However, it did not really resolve my problem. My problem is that the MAC cannot access the server (both Domain controler and it also has several shared folders) even though the credentials are correct (user & admin). I was told that joining the domain would resolve the problem. WRONG !!! I get invalid credentials error or folder cannot be modified. According to several sources, you must disable Digitally Sign Security policy on the domain controller. But infortunatly we cannot do that. The Person who manages our system says that it could increase security risk significantly . Now, what I did is setup a share and through UAM, MAC can authenticate and access the shared folder. Now here is another problem. IT`s READ ONLY !! If them same user gets to the file from PC, it`s full control. Can you believe it? it does not end !! We still think a security policy on windows is responsible for that. Any ideas guys ?? |
