Problem with front audio panel

I've recently built my first computer from scratch.

Among the several problems I'm having (see previous posts that are as of
yet, still unanswered) I have a problem with my front audio panel.

I have a Biostar i945P-A7 motherboard with intergrated ALC882 sound.

I'm trying to get my front mic and headphone jacks to work, but with
no luck as of yet.

I've properly wired the front connectors but the Realtek HD Audio Manager
refuses to detect that I've inserted either a mic or headphone.

Anyone have any advice?

just check with that the wires are inserted tightly with the board and the pins coz this may be a dumb reason for the problem...and check the configuration for front panel for fitting the wires in the sockets...

I've double and tripple checked. The wiring is all correctly inserted.
Here's what I've got:

Case Mobo
MIC = Mic R
Mic Bias = Mic L
Spkout R = Headphone R
Spkout L = Headphone L
GROUND = Ground
Return R = Jack 1 SENSE
Return L = Jack 2 SENSE

I've checked many forums and sites to get the correct wiring (i've been working
on this for several days). If this is incorrect, please let me know.

This is driving me crazy, my beautiful new computer is ALMOST done. Just a few
minor things left.

If anyone has any solutions please let me know.

Have yuo gone into control panel and switced the speaker settings from your speakers to headphone to see if the headphones work? not all onboard sound chipsets will autodetect headphones when you plug them in.
