Linux Browsers (Fedora Core 4 and others)
Why are all linux browsers so frigging slow, compared to windows, for example IE or Mozilla loads an average page in about 5 seconds max with highspeed internet (3 mb) but when using linux it takes about 30 if not more with same connection, does anybody know how to fix this or if there are any other browsers for fedora 4

Try Opera - the fast browser
![]() In Linux you can use Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, Konqueror, IE If it is still slow with Opera, then you should look over the Linux network connection setup - you may have done something wrong. If it's only slow with Mozilla/Firefox, then you should look into updating your graphics drivers - it is usually GTK2 rendering that makes these browsers slow on Linux. |

Firefox is nice and speedy in linux for me. I'd say less than 3 seconds to launch and pull up my home page.
