how can i tell if my graphics card is bad or if its the driver

ive been getting the infamous nv4_disp error. I have a geforce 6800Xt and i wanna find out if its the card itself or just the drivers. Any suggestions.

nv4_disp is a device driver for nvidia cards, its a software problem, try a reinstall of the driver, or a different driver release.
