Mobile PCs get new hardware

As some of you probably know CeBit trade show in Hannover, Germany started yesterday, and with it, a bunch of new product announcements as was expected (TomHW has posted his Day 1 coverage here). Having both ATI and NVIDIA unveiled their new graphics products weeks before the show, we are now left with mobile chips announcements from both sides.

NVIDIA announced the GeForce FX Go 5600 and Go 5200; both sporting full DX9 functionality with additionaly power saving technology. ATI will offer two new products: the Mobility Radeon 9200 for mainstream laptops and the Mobility Radeon 9600 for performance systems, as well as the Mobility Radeon 7000, that is actually a full chipset with integrated graphics. More details here & here.

Last but not least, Centrino based notebooks will become available soon and Anandtech has already put some of the first models to test. Unfortunately they don't test against any Mobile Athlon system but so far Centrino's performance & power management solution is looking pretty good.
