Hello and welcome to Techspot.

0x00000051: REGISTRY_ERROR

This indicates a Registry or Configuration Manager problem. An I/O error may have occurred while the Registry was trying to read one of its files (caused by hardware or file system problems). This message might also appear due to a memory management error (more common in earlier versions of Windows NT).

Go HERE and follow the instructions.

If that doesn`t help. Zip 5 or 6 of your latest minidumps together and attach them here.

Regards Howard

Thanks for your reply. I have done all kinds of checks etc and my ram checks were ok. I suspect a trojan / virus. When i run spyware doctor my pc gets a BSOD. It all started one day when I tried to access files on my 2 pc network at home. My other pc started with the same problem on the same day. This was months ago.

I have included a minidump :bounce:

2 minidumps crash at 3dfxvs.dll. Video card driver. They have a bugcheck of EA. They also reference turtleodyssey.exe. Update your video card drivers and check for any updates/patches for your game.

2 minidumps crash at ntoskrnl.exe. Windows bootup kernel. They have a bugcheck of 51. They also reference swdoctor.exe. Spyware doctor. Uninstall Spyware doctor.

0x000000EA: THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER

A device driver problem has caused the system to pause indefinitely (hang). Typically, this is caused by a display driver waiting for the video hardware to enter an idle state. This might indicate a hardware problem with the video adapter, or a faulty video driver.

Your latest minidump crashes at ntoskrnl.exe and has a bugcheck of 51.

Take a look HERE for more info.

If you suspect a virus/trojan.

Open a new thread in the security and the web forum and post a HJT log, after following these instructions.

Go and have your computer scanned HERE.

Then, go and read both these threads by RBS, Follow all the instructions exactly.

How to remove Trojans and its ilk! and How to remove Begin2search / coolwebsearch and other nasties.

Then see. How to post your Hijackthis log-file as an ATTACHMENT.
