Recently i just purchased a GeForce FX 5500 and it has a 8x AGP connector the problem i have is that on my Dell Dimension 2400 Motherboard there is NO 8x AGP slot, BUT to make things more difficult there IS in fact an area for an 8x AGP slot to be placed. I went to a store and there didnt have any slots so i can attach it to my motherboard. EITHER:

A) FIND and PURCHASE a 8x AGP Slot to connect to my motherboard

or

B) FIND and PURCHASE another motherboard that is similar to the dell dimension 2400 series motherboard----but from here should just get a new case and rebuild the computer but use the same parts that i already have on?

Please post something and let me know what i should do because it would be very helpful

I don't think it's possible to just solder on a agp slot, unless you are VERY skilled (like a genius in electronics engineering or something).
I replaced my dell 2300's board with a gigabyte 8IG1000MK, but there are many possible replacements. If you get a new full atx case, then you could get a full atx board, which has more expansion slots and options, instead of a micro atx board.
If you get a full atx case, then this board would be nice.

Getting the board to work with the dell case takes a little modification though.

i really like the first option you put down but can you lead me to a place where i can purchase a full atx case so that way i can go to that link and get a full atx board. AND your also saying that all the parts that i already have connected to this current dell dimension 2400 series motherboard will beable to function on this new board?

The first motherboards I listed should work with your parts.
It's compatible with your processor, memory, hard drive, cd drive, etc.
There are many atx cases available, at newegg alone, there are more than 600.

If you want a new mobo that fits the 2400 like a glove and has more ability for upgrades, try the Dell optiplex 170L motherboard. It has a sata connection and can handle bigger processors with 800 FSB. I put one in my 2400 and installed a P4 3.0 HT chip and a 160 Sata Hard drive and added the Dimesnion 3000 I/O plate in the rear. It improved the 2400 greatly.Just a thought.
You can find them on ebay cheaper than a 2400 board.
