A taste of my Desert

Now that I have a better camera, I thought I'd share this with you.
Who would have thought, these were only supposed to bloom once.
This is the 4th year for the big one with 5, 1st years for younger one.
They bloom only at night, for one night!

I will up date this photot album as they progress.

They're kinda big files but worth the wait....IMO

Good call!
Yes it's a rescue plant, it's about 8 years old now.
I've had it for 4yrs.

Should be opening tonight!

Funny thing is, I've yet to figure out what or who is pollinating them.

They are very beautiful but very stinky, so I'm thinkg maybe bats.
They are out in droves in early/late evening this time of year.
I hope to get photo of that!

Can you take a photo of the blooms for us? That would be cool. I had a 3' cactus for 8yrs and 1 day I watered it in the middle of winter (not a lot 1/2 cup)....it dropped dead. WTF. It was flowering too once a yr after about 6 yrs of it's life.
