Need RAM Upgrade Advice

My computer specs. shows my current RAM is: DDR266 PC2100. I want to add more RAM, I currently have 1GB installed in 2 slots- 2x512MB. I'm thinking of getting a 1GB stick of RAM to add so I will have a total of 1.5GB. Is DDR333 PC2700 RAM compatible with what I have? I'm guessing it is and the clock speeds will run at what I have now but I'm not 100% sure.

It depends on if the mobo can handle the DDR333 and if it can then you are correct and you'll only run at 266. So just buy 266 again unless you want to eventually replace the 266 with a 2nd stick of 1G DDR333. (assuming your mobo can take it). Down load CPU-Z and run it to find the exact model of your mobo. Google that and you can easily get the specs for it.
