over the last few days and Im not sure why or how it all started; but i keep getting pop-up messages:

1) windows security ceter - alert
windows security center: scan your pc for spyware click here
highlighted in red: fopen (geoIPcity.dat):failed to open stream
if i click it takes me to: - free scan

2) warning potential spyware operation - when i go to close this pop-up it too takes me to the website - free scan

3) alert you are receiving spam - free scan

every few minutes they come all day long

well i have to tell you all that I do have spyware programs with full antivirus software, none have anything to do with my programs (The shield antivirus & spy sweeper) I always have on block pop ups, i can choose to accept cookies or not, but these are something different and i need pro help in sorting these out!

Your computer is probably infected with some kind of spyware etc.

Go HERE and follow the instructions exactly.

Post a fresh HJT log as a .txt attachment into this thread, only after doing the above.

You might want to copy and paste these instructions into a notepad file. Then you can have the file open in safe mode, so you can follow the instructions easier.

Boot into safe mode. See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial61.html

Turn off system restore.(XP/ME only) See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial56.html

In Windows Explorer, turn on "Show all files and folders, including hidden and system". See how HERE. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial62.html

Go to add remove programmes in your control panel and uninstall anything to do with(if there).

PartyGaming
PartyPoker
PartyGammon

Close control panel.

Open your task manager, by holding down the ctrl and alt keys and pressing the delete key.

Click on the processes tab and end process for(if there).

RunBackGammon.exe
PartyPoker.exe
runsrv32.exe
susp.exe

Close task manager.

Click start/run and type regsvr32 /u C:\WINDOWS\system32\adobepnl.dll into the run box and press the enter key. Note the space between the 2 and the forward slash and again between the u and c.

Run HJT with no other programmes open(except notepad). Have HJT fix the following, by placing a tick in the little box next to(if there).

O2 - BHO: adobepnl.ADOBE_PANEL - {A40D9D65-5C09-421A-AFF8-2160D7ABD4E7} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\adobepnl.dll
