Professional WebHosting for $7.77/month!

I recently opened a trial membership at http://www.powweb.com after seeing an ad on www.rage3d.com. I've been using their service, evaluating it's reliabilty and features this week.
To say the least I am very impressed.

For $7.77 you get the following:
500MB of space
Ability to use www.yourdomain.com
30GB/month of data transfer
24/7 FTP access
CGI-BIN, ssi, .htaccess, cronjobs, PHP & sendmail

50 WebMail or SMTP/POP3 mail addresses
(such as youremail@yourdomain.com)
for example I am using ceo@casualconsulting.com

WebStats report (know who connects to your website, when and where from!)
24/7 Email Support
7-day/week telephone support

and MUCH more!!!

They also have a forum at http://forums.powweb.com, where you can ask questions and get help from web professionals and other powweb members quickly. I've used this forum and the members are VERY helpful and you get a quick response.

You can also try this service for $15 days for FREE. You do NOT need a credit card to try out this service nor ANY means of ID other than your name and a few other details.

I am still on the 15 day trial and I have transferred my domain www.casualconsulting.com over to powweb, and it is currently working great! In a few weeks I am purchasing a 1 year subscription for $93.24! ($7.77 x 12 months)

I know many of you may have been looking for webhosting and IMHO this is THE way to go. You can also register your domain with powweb for $15/year, instead of having to go with another registering service such as www.register.com! I registered my domain with www.verio.com and it cost me $19/year.

If you would like to check out my website that I am currently working on, then visit http://www.casualconsulting.com (this web address will work for about another 10 days, and will be down for a few weeks afterwards until I purchase my one year subscription).

Just thought I would make you guys aware of this service. What you do from here is your business

Also, if you plan to sign up PLEASE let me know so that I can get the referral (I get $15 for a referral). Please don't just signup without letting them know I referred you .

I have used powweb in the past for about three domains. Most of the time the sites were up and everything was working correctly but there was also a lot of times I had major problems with them. One time someone decided to host a porn site that ate up bandwidth like crazy and slowed down their servers or so they said, it took them about few weeks before the problem was taken care of. Mean while my site was beyond slow or just didn't work at all. Another time someone hit their servers with DoS attack. Well they couldn't do anything but call the FBI, of course their homepage worked so people could still sign up. Their excuse was the attacker only hit one server, which is understandable I guess. They let a few people transfer their site to another server but after day or so they stopped taking request, in fact they would not respond to me at all (email, forums etc). My site was up and down for months because of that. I also had problem with webstats and a lot of other people did complaining in the forums. They couldn't seem to fix the problem and said we will fix it whenever. So there was lots of people that couldn't check their webstats for months. All they could say is webstats is a feature not something everyone has to have, so they don't have to fix it right away. I have seen reviews written about powweb and tons of those reviews are negative. I haven't used them in some time now but I wouldn't give them another dollar.

Here is few links I found.

So acid, exactly how much is it you make for each new subscription?
I guess at $7.77 they won't be able to pay you much.

PS: Only kidding

I've actually been looking for webspace which allows me to use cgi-bin... And I only need it for about 15 days!

Thanks for the heads up

I've heard good things of Powweb as long as your site is small and you keep it small (because you can't upgrade to faster services), and like 'cessation' commented, that is the kind of support you can get for less than $10 dollars for the most part.

Then of course if you need a real dedicated solution for something bigger... you know where we are hosted .

He was just joking around...
Your original post was allmost like reading an adverticement for powweb.com, and he was asking how much you got in comission for every new person who signed up due to your post...

Nothing to take very serious!
