Office 2k3 file associations
I'm having a problem with a specific Windows profile on an XP service pack 2 machine with the Office 2k3 file associations. All of their Excel, Word, and Powerpoint files have the generic blank icon instead of the office icons. They can open the files, so this is more of an annoyance than anything. I can log into the machine, and my files show the correct icon for each file type. I've tried an Office repair, but that didn't help. The problem seems specific to their profile. I'm going to try an complete office unintall/reinstall next to see if that helps. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

Have you tried the trick with the rightclick on the file with the mouse and selecting open file with.
Their is an option for always use this application for this file or something in that extend, don't know cause I run a Dutch localized version off windows XP. That should do the trick and otherwise look if the icons are installed properly on the account. |
