Average PSU Power
Hello,
Whats the best PSU to get? I had a 300W one and changed last week for a 450 Low Noise PSU. I know I wont need 450W and it will probubly do me no differernce but is it worth having that extra bit more? I was going to get the 600W one but it was faulty, so I had to take it back and get the 450W one. I think 300W is plenty, What you guys think? |

According to your PC specs, I think that a quality 300W PSU would be good for you. Just make sure it has at least 20A on the 12V rail.

Ok, that low noise PSU is perfect for you. I hope it's a good quality one.
I have a 400W FSP Group PSU, and works like a charm. It's very silent, cool, and powerful. 36A on the +12V rail

matthew,
you cannot go by the wattage rating alone. there are more important factors that determine how powerful a PSU is. a good quality 300w PSU can easily provide more usable power than a cheap 450w PSU. what brand name and model# is your PSU? |

I've got an Antec NEO-HE 500w
INTEL E6300 NVIDIA 6600GT 2G RAM 2X400G DRIVE,2X200G DRIVE,2X80G DRIVE CREATIVE SOUND BLASTER LIVE 5.1 LG H10A DVD-RW I've always looked at what i've got plugged in and i check the actual ratings that each component uses, Most people get an overpowered power supply(which is alright) and then worry about if they've got enough power. As pretty much everyone will tell you that the wattage itself doesn't mean jack, it's the actual rating each rail can handle. I've got 3x17A on the 12v rails. Meaning one happy Moimit
