Bios password reset

I need to know whether there is ANY way of bypassing or resetting a bios password. When I switch the machine on, a little logo appears which looks like a padlock with the number 1 next to it. If this is the password how do I know what it is.

Is that a laptop or a corporate workstation? No easy way then. You can dig through the Dell BIOS pwd reset threads or call up the manufacturer support if you like..

Bios

There are many ways to remove bios password one way is to remove the CMOS battery but u have to wait for a few hours some require a day meaning 24 hours. You see the cmos battery allow information to be store on the bios with the help of the cmos battery. If u ever work on a mother board when the cmos battery is dead and u put in some setting for that moment it will store but once u shutdown and put it on back the setting is reset to factory default. Some battery u have to solider off and resolider back for that to work. So u can try it to see if it work for u
