vmouse.vxd and system.ini
I'm fixing someone's computer and the mouse is not working. I made a check on device manager and found a ! upon the mouse driver with the property saying "vmouse.vxd cannot be loaded by Windows 98". After a bit of research, I looked into system.ini and found garbage text, deleted it, and saved system.ini. However, the mouse still does not work and only works when I disable system.ini in msconfig. Anyone know what may be the problem and the best solution?

Well taking N3051M's advice, I checked update driver, copied the files needed for the update over to the other computer and restarted it and the mouse works even with system.ini on. Thanks for the help. Kind of hard to troubleshoot when the client is very very vague.
"My mouse just doesn't work" 'When was the last time it didn't work?' "When I last used it." |
