ram not registering on comp.
ok i recently got a stick of 512mb ram that is as far as i know compatible with my laptop i installed it but my system information still says 256mb of ram and i was just wondering if anyone could help me as far as whats the problem an/or what I should do

The memory is probably not compatible. Check 4allmemory.com they will tell you what WILL work on your computer. If it is compatible enter the bios and make sure both ram ports or slots are enabled.
