Svchost.exe Error in Outlook

When I try to send emails from Outlook I receive the following message...

"SVCHOST.exe has generated erros and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created."

I tried restarting the program and the computer but continue to get the error. Any suggestions as to what's wrong or how to fix it???

And boy is blaster a popular one!

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com has a patch for it.

I have fixed roughly a dozen computer with Blaster.worm, but I've yet to see the svchost.exe error. But I have seen plenty of other viruses with simliar symptoms. You may want to take a trip to symantec.com and check out their free online virus scan, or update your virus definitions for whatever virus program may be installed on your computer and run a complete scan.

here is a link with additional info on svchost.exe crash cause of blaster worm. The wierd thing is, this only seems to happen to some win2k users, not all. and for some it crashes during boot and for some it crashes later. anyways, what it does is disabling drag-n-drop and other stuff that you usually do with your mouse as well as prevent launching certain programs. so this leaves you with the good old dos-prompt
