games crashing

i have experienced crashing with 2 games so far which are "rise of legends" and "counterstrike source"

in rise of legends it rather comes up with a blue screen which says something about physical memory "looping" and that windows needs to restart to prevent damage to my system or it just comes up with an error and asks me if i want to send an error report.

counterstrike source just freezes and i have to close the program.
i have noticed the blue screen problem also when i am playing dvds

my system specs are...

p4 3.0ghz
1gb ddr ram
geforce 7600 gt
windows xp service pack 2

can anyone help me?

Your DVD may be in the early stages of failure.

try reinstalling both games, if it still crashes after you do then you most likely are having a memory failure try running memtest86 at memtest86.com or call your RAM provider and see if they can help you.
