PC C: drive and RAM

hey, first time user, intrested in updating my computer by myself, aus/20. just needed some advice on putting in and installing new memory. atm i only have 4G on the C: and 6G on the D: also when i turn my computer on it makes a lound harmming noise it's pretty loud is that to do with my ram being screwed and can i install more my self. also it's slow as all my memory is used up

can you post some specs? is the humming noise coming from the speakers or the case?

RAM has nothing to do with whatever noise you are hearing. Unless it was beeps from the motherboard, but you wouldn't describe those as "harmming".

you probably have either a noisy fan, or in rare cases a PSU that is electronically noisy. Both should be replaced. Some cheaply built PSUs "hum" at the power hertz rate - usually 60hz.
