Well I think all 6600GTs are 500/1000. I guess you just got ripped off

I had a great overclock on my old x700.

Notice the Old infront of the x700. The sucker burned up after 3 months. Stable as a rock. Came out of the blue. I looked at the PCB, scorched.

For that reason I never support overclock of cards with stock cooling.

Just a word of warning.
