Plz rate my overclocking.

I have quantum 6600gt graphics rated at
Default:-
Memory clock - 800 mhz
3dclock - 300 mhz

now i overclocked the card and am still overclocking it meanwhile the experts may plz rate it .

Overclocked:-
Memory clock - 1086 mhz
3dclock - 416 mhz.

have overclocked the memory clock of gpu by 35.75 %

and i also have overclocked the 3d clock of my gpu by 38.67 %

is the overclocking fine???or is there more scope???

i have only the default cooler and 4 fans in the cabinet.

the temp on load while under overclocking is 68`c.

is this normal ?????

also tell me that after overclocking what will my 6600gt be equivalent to at the overclocked settings.

The overclocking is completely stable.

finally plz rate the overclocking.

Thanking you in Advance

not bad for a stock heatsink/fan overclock

any amount of overclock is good really (as long as the component still works afterwards)

and it is still the same as a 6600 but just slightly faster clocks, its the gpu design and overall design of the card that makes it unique.

68c is quite hot, but as long as it works, who cares right? any amount of overclocking will shorten the life of a component tho, u know that right? but 68 should be fine, my x1900xtx can get into the 70s when playing fear and thats still going over clocked to gpu:695 mem:828 (stock heatsink/fan too

since that gpu should be running at 50'c I would say it depends on how long u expect the gpu to last. u will not kill it immediately but that will sure shorten the life.

and I voted poor just because I know it will shorten the life, but if I could vote over I would change that to good because that is a good over clock.

its equivelent to the 6800 card so seems like you're saving 50 bucks through overclock

No, it's not. The 6600GT is A) 128-bit, and B) Should be stock 500/1000, not 300/800. So what happened is, you got ripped off when you bought your 6600GT, and you had to overclock it to get it back to near stock speeds. It's an alright overclock, but it would be faster at stock if it had been properly made.

Also, a 6800 has 16 pipelines and a 256-bit bus. So no matter how hich you put the clocks, it will never be the same as a 6800 because you need 2x the memory clock on a 6600 to get the same bandwidth of a 6800, and because a 6600 has half the pipelines.

Yeah what he said.

Still 300/800 is what I beileve to be the stock speed?

Thats a good O/C and shouldn't shorten its life that much.

He didn't mention anything about stability after the overclock. Is it stable in overtaxing 3D apps?

For a 6600GT the stock speed is 500/1000. 300/800 is maybe some strange model in between a 6600GT and a 6600 Vanilla.

Either way, those cards are all 2 generations out of date.

Great wording? Everyone calls the plain old 6600 the "Vanilla" so as to not confuse it with the GT or the LE. Same with the "Vanilla" 6800, so it won't be confused with the 6800GS, 6800XT, 6800GT, the ever so rare 6800 Ultra, and whatever other twisted models there are based on the Geforce 6800.

Out of curiosity,Can my cpu which is an Intel celeron processor 2.80 GHz be over clocked? I heard that the newest processors can't be overclocked cuz Intel tryin to stop that.
