And Netflix just announced they are going to drop HD-DVD. Makes me sad, they were my only source for HD since I'm too cheap to buy $30 movies.

I heard netflix has been talking about releasing a box where you can order movies without using disks. I haven't been able to get confirmation on that though. If they did that it would stir things up a bit.

I know we are getting a bit off topic here, but I think with 40 posts per page and 11 pages that its bound to happen.

But if netflix does that, its going to have to be CHEAP, because I can build a PC for cheap (or take an old one and put a 7 series vid card in it (6200 won't work, I've tried)) and hook that up wirelessly or wired to my router and stream netflix movies. Then with a wireless mouse you are all set. In fact that is what I'm currently doing with one of my PCs.

But to ungracefully force this back to PS3 talk, if netflix wasn't DRM'd like crazy you could stream netflix to the browser on the PS3. I don't see that happening though with Netflix because they don't even support FF or Opera, let alone another OS like linux or OS X.

360 Users do it through Xbox Live apparently.

Blind Dragon. The cord wasn't actually plugged into the wall at all, one end was in my PS3 and the other was in my hand, i was about to plug it in then it got me. I just threw the cable out, i've got plenty laying around.

Yea The March issue of Maxium PC has steps of how to stream media from your PC to your 360, sounds interesting. I really dont see the point in streaming because yea if your PS3 and PC are in different room maybe theres a point but I'd rather just watch it on a PC. Well if your PC monitor sucks then I could see the point of streaming bcuz obviously your PS3 setup might be better than your PC setup.

Well the netflix thing isn't streaming from your PC to your PS3, its pulling netflix directly off the web. Its much more enjoyable watching a movie on your big screen HDTV with your 5.1+ surround than it is a computer monitor.

The xbox does that with the media center extenders I believe. I don't have a 360 so I haven't paid attention to that. I'm not sure how or if it is done on a PS3.

My setup is Computer connected with VGA to VGA in on my TV. When I connect my laptop (or now my new mac mini) to my tv it will be DVI to HDMI cable (bought from monoprice). The PC I have connected (and laptop) have wireless cards in them, and I have videos shared on my wired PCs. Streaming over wireless can at times be bad (or not work for HD content) so its easier to put files on an external drive first. Wireless kb and mouse are also helpful.

Damn i needa get my money right B4 i have that set up. I seen something on here about how to make your PC a Media Center and record stuff from your cable connection. I'll look into in by the fall lolz

This is NOT how I will eventually have it, but I thought maybe I should get a pic up since I've talked about my setup a few times in this thread.

Xbox is pictured, and its modded, but I don't have an easy way to wire it to really utilize the features of a modded xbox. Wii is also pictured, and it sticks out a bit, but I can hide that by placing it on the floor between the dvd rack and the tv stand. But now do you guys see my earlier 'issues' with a PS3? I can't make it fit with components well, it would have to stand up like the Wii does. That silver cable box really hurts the looks of it all. And also the unprofessional crap on the sub and on the top of the stand, so I know all of that, it doesn't need to be pointed out to me . The cords on top of the stand are a 15' dvi to hdmi cable that I run to my powerbook, and to the left of the reciever you can see the 6' audio line I run to the reciever from the powerbook. So I have a well featured setup, just now is the process of making it look fantastic. I'm on my way to doing that with a mac mini which I'm writing this post on right now, it is going to replace my c2d media comp which is behind the right speaker and dvd rack.

Well you could chuck your old xbox away and slide the PS3 in there :P

That cable box does spoil the fun but if you could find a way to put it next to the PS3 it would not look so bad, and it still doesn't.

Edit: YAY thanks to gamespot. World in conflict will be coming to the PS3 come Sept hopefully!!! Endwar is also due in the Fall, which means I get to wait all year just to play these games. Well thats something to look forward 2 if ur a RTS fan!

Finally, someone got smart and are selling the 60 gigs. Luckily we have like 2 Gamestops/EBGames in our small town, so I may just get one here soon.

I am going to be one dissapointed PS3 owner if the BC thing is thrown out the window b-cuz the 60gig PS3 SKU's will eventually crap out and when i buy my 2nd PS3 I want to play my PS2 games on it instead of connecting my PS2!
