unsolicited porn

i'm new here. i'm not very computer saavy which is why i came to this site. i need help. last month i turned my computer on and my home page was gone and in it's place was porn site. i am the only one that uses this computer and i am not a visitor of porn sites. it had been added to my favorites so i deleted it and changed my home page. well today the same thing happened again. why is this happening??? i've heard that unsuspecting folks have had thier computers used as diversion addresses for porn that is sent.

after going through some of the threads i installed spybot and adware. thank you very much.

Its awful that this happens.

My little sister (aged 5) wants an e-mail address so that she can e-mail her friends.

We are frightened to give it to her incase she gets mailed some pic of a woman having sex with a horse or something.

Its EVIL that this goes on. I am no prude, I even like looking at pictures of naked women, lots of guys do. But having to thrown onto you whether you want it or not is disgusting. Its horrible that this goes on.

I know what ya mean Phant, I have an email addy that is used just for my son's stuff (he is 4), we use it for things he does like nickjr, cartoon netwok stuff and his favorite new game at duckdodgers.com

the only places that have this addy are kid related websites like those I mentioned above, yet when I check that account it gets all the same spam my other accounts get, including ads for porn, sexual enhancement products, etc...
This is sad and sick.

I set up my 10 yr old daughter with a hotmail a/c and after 2 days she had 26 messages that were sex related.

I now have a jerseymail address that i filter and pass on to a folder for her as it still gets some rubbish.

thanks for the advice and comments.

as for emai, i think hotmail just automatically sends junk mail. i started using yahoo and have not had any problems.

i just don't understand how my home page could be changed to a porn site when i did not click on any of the e-mails. could it happen with a virus??

ActiveX scripts can do that. Set your browser security settings higher or change the browser
