$27,000 to $85,000, depending how good he or she is, and how much experience. Truly outstanding programmers can write their own ticket

I think that is a good question! Thinking now, I would be interested to know what are say the top few types of programming? What are the more popular ones? I guess that may be a dumb question seeing how broad that scope may be.
