please help....

the f:/ drive of my hard disk has gone loco...while tryin to access folders it says

"the disk in drive is not formatted. do u want to format it now"

only one folder gives me access to it n rest of it doesnt allow to open them...when i

checked the folder size it shows "folder empty" & when i checked the f:/ drive space it

shows 9GB in use which has been the same.

this happened when i took my hard disk to frns house but when i log in to my hard disk the

f: drive was corrupted

maybe the file to folder association might have lost or something like that..i dont know

just pls pls plssssssssssssssssssss help me recover my data back plssssssssssssss...i want

to recover my 9GB of f drive back as it contains some.doc,mp3,pdf,, n many more format

files...pls suggest some good solution..

god bless uuuuu plsssssss helpp...

The obvious issue is WHY did you take the disk to some other system?
(don't answer -- it doesn't lead to any solution!)

Once you're in trouble with the HD, your data is at risk --- all of it.

To correct any issues on the HD,
boot into Safe Mode; run->MSconfig
select the BOOT.INI tab
and the first boot option /SAFEBOOT
click ok and allow REBOOT NOW

when it comes back up, run->chkdsk /f
which may need another boot

this will correct the filesystem, BUT YOU MAY LOOSE SOME FILES

when that completes, run->SFC /scannow
to correct system files

next run->MSCONIF and select normal boot
