Getting a BSOD when I try and install a game

It says STOP: 0x0000008E (0xC0000005, 0x00000000, 0xB0C1B88, 0x00000000)

Please help b/c this is driving me crazy. It's not only been doing this whenever I press the INSTALL button for this PC game, but it does it at random times, too.

I have Windows XP. I'm trying to install Star Wars: Empire at War. I use a Radeon X700 video card. I have 512 MB of RAM. DirectX 9.0C is installed. The processor is Intel Pentium 4 CPU 2.80 GHZ. For what it's worth, the game worked fine on this same computer about a year ago. The BSOD doesn't mention anything else.

Make sure all your drivers are updated. Get all your windows updates, and perhaps a bios update.
