My graphics card (XFX GeForce 7950 GX2 Extreme) is conflicting with Intel(R) 915G/P/GV/GL/PL/910GEGL PCI Express Root Port - 2581

I have a Code 12 in device manager

"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)
If you want to use this device, you will need to disable one of the other devices on this system.
Click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter for this device."

Please Help

Sounds as if you have a memory problem... but this error can be anything... hardware or software... often it is an interrupt that is needed.
Normally, you do not get this error with Windows XP. It was common in Windows 98 and before.
Tell us what Computer or motherboard, and OS you are using. And what other devices you have loaded... audio, modem, ethernet, partitions, gadgets, pci card slots filled, etc.
You can find more detail and a hardware troubleshooter at www.microsoft.com where they have a Microsoft Knowledgebase article on it.

Also i went into Display/settings/advance/adapter/propites/resorces

and it comes up with conflict saying

You may have a bad PCI-Express video graphics card. Remove and reseat the card and try again.
If that doesn't help, borrow another card, and also try your cad in another machine.

Have a look under System Information at the Hardware Resources, Conflicts/Sharing and see what it says.

If one of the PCI buses is involved, your bios allows you to reassign the PCI irq's.

It doesn't look like your vid card is being recognized.

Do you have the extra power plug hooked up to it?

If the card is good and in the correct slot and the psu is good and the card has any necessary additional power connected to it then it should run OK and NOT give that error.

In that picture you posted of the card, in the upper left hand corner on the opposite side is the additional power connector. I can't see anything connected to it.

edit: from what I have vbeen reading, this entry 'Memory Address 0xA0000-0xBFFFF VgaSave' refers to the Windows default video drivers which should be superceded by the new card drivers when 'Found New Hardware' activates and you install them.

However, since your card is NOT being seen, it can't.

The solution may be to do an 'SFC /scannow' to check all Windows drivers are OK, have a look through Add/Remove Programs to ensure no old video drivers are still on the comp, and to run a chkdsk /r /f .


Or simply reinstall Windows.

I think i might of found the problem tho. when you kept saying it might not be connected propley, i had a look at the pins and found that one of them looked like it was snaped in half. I took a pic, can you please tell me if its normal. Its a little blury as i was so close.

Not having an identical card as a reference, I don't know.

If that is new, RMA (return) it for a replacement.

I took your advice and sent it back and have got a nVidia 8800GTS 640MB, I hope that one works :P,
