Microsoft Word [Backgrounds]

When I click on "background", select the one I want, & click "ok", the background appears, yet when I print, the sheet is plain, no colour, any ideas please?

Document backgrounds are designed to be viewed on the screen and not printed. The background that you create by using the Background command on the Format menu will not print. To add printable background, borders, or shading to your page, use the Printed Watermark command (by pointing to Background on the Format menu) or the Borders and Shading command on the Format menu.

:Found in the help feature for Word

Thanks for that, LNCPapa, didn't think of using the "Help" feature, will do, in future.

No prob - it's an art getting "help" to give you the results you want. Sometimes you have to coerce it like a Mac.

Heh that is too true. I don't know how many times I have tried using any help menu for something simple and it does everything BUT help you.

One more comment, there IS worse than trying to work out how the "Help" facility can be of use, that's going to M'soft for help, haven't had a useful reply yet, that is if you get a reply at all!!
A friend told me to go to;-
www.microsoft.com/security/protect/default.asp
I believe this only deals with firewalls & the like though.
